You Bastards! [Repost from my Tumblr and an Appearance of the RAGE MONSTER!]

This morning's rousing round of 'Fuck You, DC!' is brought to you by this article by The New York Daily News.

Can't even comment on this coherently this morning.

Raise your hand if this is not blatantly looking like yet another way to screw the Shusters and Siegels out of even more of the money they're owned by changing his story and the supporting characters that belong to it.

Thanks, DC, to raping my childhood memories to the point that I'll never EVER buy your comics again, no matter what good things could happen to my OTP in the future and for making me not want to watch anything that's post-Smallville for my couple.

God, you guys make me sick.

The "Clark quitting the Planet" storyline almost happened a time or two in the late 70s/early 80s when he was a newscaster so that part doesn't immediately flag me. What does steam me is how Clark treats Lois (and her personal texts) in that promo. What is he thinking, doing that? He doesn't have that sort of permission! It's a Red-K (from Superman III) action and the sort of behavior he would have been getting a smack from Lois powers or no powers.

Re:
That's the thing, though. Everyone wants to do that kind of story, but what's the point when he's just going to come back to it later? There are so many reasons for him to be there at the Planet and johnny-on-the-spot. Just...grrr. And again, they're changing all of the stuff that was trademark of S&S and the essentials to the character. So yeah. It pisses me off and it's going to keep pissing me off.

Oh, I can't even go into Lois and Clark anymore. If I start in ranting over the treatment of her. I JUST CAN'T. Too many angry-as-hell feelings. Period. It's all just character assassination, pure and simple.

I agree. The quitting does not bother me. The way DC treats Lois these days does. It is like they are trying to get people to hate her so that it will be easier to accept the WW move. I fear that eventually they will push her to a nice three panel death a la V. Vale. Who? Exactly. Pisses me the hell off.

Like I said above, it only really pisses me off because it means that we lose more of the supporting cast, more of the bones of the character, and more of the original creators' canon. I'm just watching everything familiar that I love about this character I've journeyed with for over fifteen years and I'm just bitter, bitter, bitter.

God, if I get started on how I feel about this bullshit with Lo, I'll never stop. Seriously, I'll storm into DC HQ and burn it down. I just feel WAAAAY too strongly about it. All of it's just so stupid and ridiculous. I almost wish the families of Siegel and Shuster get ALL THE RIGHTS. I don't want them having their dirty paws on any of my bbs.

I stopped speaking to DC when they started doing this whole "new 52" BS. I knew where it was headed and there was no way I was going along for that ride to crap town and paying for the privilege. Fuck that noise. I refuse to even go see the new movie, I don't care how hot that guy is. Till it gets fixed, I am done.

The funniest thing is that the sales of the book keep dropping with all this shit they are pulling and what do they do in the face of those lost sales? They double the fuck down. Dudes, first thing to do to get out of a hole you're in? Stop digging. it's starting to feel less and less like a sound business plan and more like a fucking vendetta. Both against the creators families and against the characters that made Clark human and therefor interesting, little boys in charge at DC are mad that the omnipotent d bag he was in their youth grew up and became a nuanced and awesome character.</p>

If you still want to read Superman, read the Smallville comic that's being web published. It's the only actual Superman comic on the market.

---Rant done. Jumping off soapbox now.------

I don't know if I'd call it the ONLY Superman comic on the market. The Superman Family Adventures comic's pretty good and it stays true to Clark being interested in Lois and whatnot. It's been getting my attention because I've been trying to purchase enough kid-friendly comics to add to my collection so that when my son's old enough i can read them to him at night.
