And The Adventure Continues...
Guess who's heading off to New Mexico for a new car in three weeks?

*points to self*

More details once we get the details worked out.

Do what! O_O That's one heck of a hike for a car.

Definitely wanna hear the details when you get a chance.

Here's a basic explanation:

The Ford Escort is no more. Dead over engine trouble, although there's plenty of other things wrong with her.

We're sharing my mother-in-law's Daewoo right now. Which is not easy and has to be making my MIL crazy.

So, we wound up with a decision. A Buick Rivera, which gets 12 miles to the gallon highway, for $2500 or we hike out to NM [the plane tickets only cost us about $300 for both of us, one-way], pick up the Kia Sophia Anissa's uncle Kevin has for free and drive her home [paying for gas and hotels on the way].

So, yeah. I think we're going to New Mexico.

Poor Ford Escort. :(

Sounds like it'll be a good trip, though, and the Kia Sohpia IS a cute little car. I almost wish I could tag along, I miss traveling so much. XD

It was pretty sad. I miss her already. Anissa wants to make a planter out of her.

I'm just relieved to use the money for a trip and get the car for free. With the way things have been lately, I REALLY needed this trip. She and I needed to do this for years and this is a good reason. A good little bright spot for the dark we've been through lately.

And this has been my first HUGE trip in over a decade. I'm actually getting pretty excited. :D

The land of enchantement....seriously, New Mexico generally is very pretty. Drove through it twice, once to move to Arizona, the other to move out of AZ. Pretty on both accounts.

I've never been one for the desert, but I have to admit, I'm looking forward to this trip because I've never seen anything further west than Austin, TX. And I ADORE car trips, so....

I never was fascinated by the desert either. In fact, when I was in college the place I was doing an internship at had a person who was moving to AZ and I thought "who on earth would ever want to live there?" And then a year later with my husband (then boyfriend) having a job offer in Phoenix, I packed my bags and moved west to the last place on earth I ever thought I'd live and lived there for four years. The desert can be quite beautiful, and you'll see when you get to New Mexico it does live up to it's nickname especially at sunset.

We'll get almost two days there, so I'm totally hoping to actually get a good look at a sunrise and a sunset at least once.

We plan to shoot a ton of pics, so we'll have to share.

Thanks! Now the excitement is increasing. ;)
