Random Fandom Thoughts Are Random

On once again viewing the auditions for Lois Lane in STM, I am thoroughly terrified by Leslie Ann Warren and her shrieky high drama, but to mention the dither. OH DEAR GOD, THE DITHER! *facepalm* Anyone that talks smack about Margot and the nutty should take a REALLY good look there. *hides* She scares me.

Also, how Margot thought Stockard Channing could be a better Lois, I'll never know. Don't get me wrong; I love Stockard's performances for the most part and she's a fine actress. But she's not Lois Lane; I actually think she's just a little too hard-nosed to be her. Not to mention that she had about 0% chemistry with Christopher. Betty Rizzo, yes; Lois Lane, no.

After Margot, the closest for me is Debra Raffin. Not pitch-perfect, but would work in a pinch. Maybe. I don't think I would have gotten so into the series if that had been the case; I think I identify too strongly with Margot's version.

But that's just my two cents.

Haha!! Totally agreed that Leslie Ann Warren would've been seriously frightening in the role. XD And Stockard Channing was just too hilarious, with her delivery of the '...totally impervious to pain...' line. >:D My Clark muse sort of gulps in fear at that one.

I could almost see Debra Raffin playing Lucy, sort of the not-quite-as-spunky Lane sister. :p

She is CRAZY! I mean, how over-the-top can you possibly be? GAH! *gets pitchfork*

Stockard just didn't have the sweetness that needs to be underneath the steel. Lois has to be vulnerable somewhere; Stockard is like a tank. I mean, she has the hard-edged journalist part down, but the romantic? I can't see it. And she and Christopher just look odd together. I couldn't see them being a couple in a million years. Again, don't get me wrong, I love her to death. Hell, I grew up on Grease and I'm seen most of her other work. Just can't see her in this.

You know, that's a great idea. I had never even thought of that. Too bad she's not blonde; then again, I like Christine Taylor for my Lucy. But that would have been awesome if they had thought to show more of their outer life in the films. You're brilliant!

Well, I guess I like to think outside the box. XD *blushes*

But yeah, Stockard is just too... hard-nosed to be Lois, as odd as that sounds. The actress definitely needed to be able to do that 'over-the-moon, girl-in-love' thing, and Margot had it, hands down. :p

Was a great idea, my little genius! *snugs* Oooh, I love you!

God, I'm going to hate myself for this, but she would be better as Maggie. And it's not even a sexual-orientation issue as much as raw emotional strength. It's very difficult for me to imagine her having the deep-down romanticism that Lois has to have. I just can't see her sighing after anyone ever.

Heeeey don't hate on Leslie Ann, she's amazing in Clue and Victor/Victoria LOL

Awww, but see! Those films are exactly the type of films she's meant for. Both are deliberately dramatic.

I'd forgotten how cringe worthy all except Margot's were

She just walked in and knocked them for a loop. It's SO easy to see why she won the part.

Suddenly I don't feel so bad. I just can't see it.

Then again, ANYTHING would have been better than that Lesley Ann. *winces*
