Addressing Two Questions
Yes, I am still alive.
Yes, the chapter will still be on time.

Now returning to my regularly-scheduled work insanity. *makes face*

That said, I leave you with Tom-brows and puppy-dog looks.

Ah I'm such a pieces, I don't constrict myself to deadlines outside the realm of work. You are so good, I don't have deadlines for chapters unless it's a challenge. That being said, really should put a bit more attention to next chap and fixing the challenge to repost w/ improvements. Then again, half marathon is commanding a lot of attention at the moment, considering it's crunch time and only two weeks away!

I can't help it; I always work best with a deadline because I don't have a chance to slack off if I know that people are expecting it to be posted by a certain time. I can't really complain about it even on hard weeks, though. It used to be a weekly deadline, not a bi-weekly. :D Plus oneshots. This really should be a cakewalk!

I'm not able to come up with anything of quality really within just a week....it takes me a long time to nit pick at things before I'm satisfied, case in point; the latest CLOIS challenge; was alright but now that I can pick at it a bit, it's going to be much better when I'm through with it...well perhaps pick wasn't an accurate description; I'm going at it with a fire ax.

You sound like us and our epic struggle with this chapter. I thyink it was the combination chair/whip and threat of shovel that did it. Don't think we don't go nuts some weeks with the Muse. Ours is a spoiled and fickle thing. ;)

I hear you; I try my best not to churn out crap...ocassionally my "crap detector" gets broken and things slip by, but I try. I know there are far better writers out there than myself but I'm fine with that. We're all gifted in many things in life and it's such a fantastic thing that the internet exists and sites such as this one where we can play around with writing and enjoy everyone's creativitiy!

*LOL* I feel you on that. Just because our stuff has gotten notice doesn't mean that I don't fret myself to death over every single thing I write. There's a reason why we keep a beta team. I worry about the quality of the stuff we present constantly (and not just because I've been bashed in a public forum before! *headdesk*) and that's why we must look everything over eight or nine times before it gets posted.

And it has nothing to do with you are a great writer or not. What matters is the story you create and how it speaks to you. If you truly love the plot bunny you have, nurture it. I care more about the heart of the story than whether you sound like a Mensa member. Love your work; that's the best advice I can ever give you.

Considering we're doing this all for free and in whatever spare time we have...I'd say anyone who posts a fan fic is truly a work of love and appreciation for the process!

Totally and completely agreed! And we have so many great writers in this fandom and its various breaches. How many people are lucky enough to have a fandom this wide and varied?
