Powering Down...
Things at my job have reached such a state that I think I'm going to ask for a long weekend the first week of June. I just need another break. I'll be thrilled when the economy starts to have more of an upswing. I'm so sick of being crabby, nervous, and exhausted all the time. I'm sick of writing whiney, aggravated posts that make me look pouty and spoiled. I hate the way business has started effecting the rest of my life. How do you teach yourself to let go when your work ethic has always made that impossible? I guess it just the way I'm built, the way my parents brought me up, but you always do your best and never leave your mess for someone else. Well, it seems like no one else cares at my job any longer and I can't make myself do the same.

I hate that things have come to this point with me. And I hate how I sound. It's no wonder everyone thinks the place has made me crazy.

*deep breath* Meh.

It's the stress-out part I'm trying to get through my brain. You'd think I'd have learned to let it go by now. *rolls eyes* If I don't, I'm going to go bananas. And I don't even like bananas. ;)

Sometimes at work when things go all wrong, and I have to make some really desperate saves, I wonder (not trying to sound conceited or anything) how the store even manages to survive without me. Then I go on vacation for a few weeks, and when I come back everything is still very much the same.

I don't know how, but stressing out is very very useless. All it does is give you a hemorrhage. Believe, the store WILL survive when you're not there.

The funny thing is that, after my freak-out last week, I'm so mellow now that my co-workers were a little worried because I've been making myself not stress. At this point, I can do what I can do and no matter, so I just tell myself that I'm doing above and beyond on my job, so what can they say? There's no point in doing that to myself. None at all.

The hilarious thing is that I can walk into Harmon after I've been gone TWO DAYS and you can tell I haven't been there. XD Actually, sometimes you can tell after I have a single day off. I swear, I'm the only one that does any heavy cleaning in that department. *snicker* Oh, well, that's job security.
