It looks as though we'll be forced to have our first late chapter. Between vacation and the holiday plus me working eight hours today on Black Friday (cleaning up the mess from this morning and this afternoon) and a ten-hour shift coming up on Sunday, it's just not going to add up. We don't expect it to be any later than Sunday night, but it will be delayed. And I don't like that. Then again, though, I know that the readers are more than a little busy, too. See you all Sunday, maybe?
Until then, a spoiler to make the wait easier.
An hour before the party, trying to gather up her dress and her heels and her jewelry, Kala paused in her preparations to dart across the hall into her brother’s room. “Did you get it?” she whispered.
“No,” he hissed back, wary of Clark’s hearing. Jason was still getting ready, his suit in its garment bag laid out on the bed while he searched with desperate speed for his cufflinks.
“What?” Kala replied in a strangled whisper. “Jason, we’re leaving in five minutes!”
“I know,” he muttered, “but I couldn’t do it with Mom around, could I?”
“How are we gonna get it out of the house without her knowing?” Kala asked. “It was trouble enough trying not to let them see my dress and your suit before the actual party. Something like this is gonna stand out, Jason!”
