NBPC - The Daydreamer

Nature, Background, Big Picture, and Color

You perceive the world with particular attention to nature. You focus on the hidden treasures of life (the background) and how that fits into the larger picture. You are also particularly drawn towards the colors around you. Because of the value you place on nature, you tend to find comfort in more subdued settings and find energy in solitude. You like to ponder ideas and imagine the many possibilities of your life without worrying about the details or specifics. You are in tune with all that is around you and understand your life as part of a larger whole. You are a down-to-earth person who enjoys going with the flow.

The Perception Personality Types:

Take The Perception Personality Image Test at HelloQuizzy

1) How about a brief introduction of yourself?

Do we really want to do this again? *sigh, rolls eyes* Okay, fine. My name is Lois and I'm here for the userpics. The fanfiction writer thing is just a rumor Barb made up. ;)

2) Fabulous! And what got you into fanfiction to begin with?

I was actually writing fanfiction for years without knowing what it was as a kid. I do remember a couple of stories that I wrote for Scarecrow and Mrs. King and P.S.I. Luv U (a short-lived Connie Selleca/Greg Evigan show from the early 90s). I started writing up Superman stories when I was eleven or twelve, but my twisted relationship with FF.net didn't start until two or three years ago.

3.) I see, so what kind of fanfiction do you write?

I pretty much stick to the Superman fandom. Write what you know. And the mood of the piece just depends on my mood at the time. And there are three different universes in our writing, which keeps it from getting too boring.

4) Do you tend to write the same pairings/characters? Or are you a fandom whore?

We tend to stick to two pairings (Lois/Kal-El and Lana/Richard) in LS. Eventually there will be some Lois/Bruce and Lana/Clark in one of the 'verses. We also tend to write the extended cast into fics together a lot in the last little while.

5) What is your most popular fanfic and why do you think people like it so?

Hmmm... That would likely be Little Secrets, 84-chapter monster and winner of several Movieverse Fanfiction awards. I think the fans liked it because it was a roller coaster ride of emotions. And they didn't have an easy happy ending. We made them work for it this time.

6) Forget other people, what is the fanfic you've written you're most proud of?

I think it would be a toss-up between the LS oneshot Connection and the In Another Lifetime series. The first because both Lois and Kal-El show themselves to be flawed but still perfect for each other and it's realistic. The second because I always wanted to write this version of their universe. I'm having so much fun plotting it.

7) Do you find writing easy? Hard? What are the most difficult aspects of writing you struggle with?

Writing itself is easy for me, especially on a day when I'm in a good mood. The hard part? Keeping the right mood for the piece you're writing. Occasionally the story I'm writing will completely change my mood from happy to depressed just because I'm trying to internalize the character's emotions. The hardest part for me is that I can't always have all the time I want to work and I occasionally can't find the words I want at the time I want them.

8) Write a few sentences or so of your favorite pairing or character.

Fine, then. A little spoiler from Unfamiliar II:

He had turned to watch her, a lazy smile curving his mouth as he appreciated the view, and at her words it became a wicked grin. Or as close to wicked as he could presently get, in his pleasure-fogged state. Lois felt her heart swell with love, the same heady giddy feeling of awe and wonder and almost unbelievable joy that she’d felt on her balcony years ago, when a dream flew down to stand beside her. “I love you,” she whispered.

“I love you, too,” Kal-El answered, voice husky. “Come to bed, Lois.”

9) Are there any fanfiction trends/cliches you can't stand or are just sick of?

I really can't do plotless fluff. I used to have serious issues with fluffy fic, but I've done a bit in my time. But always with a plot. Always.

10) Are you guilty of any of the fanfiction trends/clichés you now hate? Or any other ones?

I hope not, but my fans would be a better judge than I. I really hope not.

11) What was the first fandom you wrote for? Do you still like/participate in it?

See above. And not for years.

12) Name your OTP's or most frequently written pairings/characters and explain what it is about them you love to write.

Kal-El (Clark)/Lois Lane in any incarnation. And how much time do you have? I love them so much that there are over 20 fics in my profile.

13) What would you call your writing "style"?

Ummm.... Yeah. *shrugs* Dunno.

14) Do you read other people's fanfic? If so, what do find yourself reading the most?

I do, but I'm one of those awful people that doesn't read as much as she used to. The biggest thing is that I spend a good part of my time worried about unintentionally stealing ideas. That's one thing I just don't want to do. Although when I do read, I always review. *hides and feels like a jerk*

15) Name one thing you'd love to write, but have been too afraid or shy to do.

I'd love to do something with my HP post-Deathly Hallows plotbunny, but it will never be.

16) Do you have trouble taking criticism? Or worse yet, do you have the dreaded bloated ego?

Occasionally I do have a difficult time with criticism, mostly due to the fact that I try my hardest with these characters. There have been a couple of occasions where it has upset me. And if I ever get the Dreaded Ego, I expect that the fandom will tell me so. ;)

17) When you write, is there anything that helps? Music? Quiet room?

Music. Watching the films again. Even watching Christopher and Margot's other films.

18) What inspires you?

See above, but things that happen in my day do it, something someone says to me, seeing something happen. I get inspiration from the world around me all the time.

19) Lastly, how would you sum up your fanfiction experiences & yourself as a writer?

Nothing in the world comapres to having the amazing readership we have. We've learned more doing these stories than we ever learned in four years of art school writing classes and gained so many friends. I think we've both really grown since we started.

20) Tag some friends, because they'll hate you for it.

Ummm, who wants it?

The Guest Who Never Leaves continues northwest. Oh, yay. And they're talking about her going out and gaining more strength? Beautiful. *rolls eyes* I'm thrilled.

I wouldn't be so jumpy if I had an off-day before Saturday. *headdesk*
