What's the last thing you wrote?
If you mean published, that would be the first part to Unfamiliar over at [info]12days_of_clois, but the literal last thing written on was another addition to Before It's Too Late (Protect) last night before bed.

 Was it any good?
Well, if the reviews are any inducator... *LOL* I think it was, but I think it was more the fact that it was a TBC.

What's the first thing you ever wrote that you still have?
A poem written in the third grade called Jack Frost. I can still recite it word for word.

Write poetry?
Used to.

Angsty poetry?
Dark, angsty, visually rich poetry. The funny part? Since Anissa and I got back together, I can't write poetry at all.

Most fun character you ever wrote?
It's a draw between Lois, Kala, and Arianne Sandrago from Dark Rising.

Most annoying character you ever wrote?
I honestly can't think of one. Eventhough I'm not thrilled with the personalities of Steve Lombard and Lex, I still enjoy writing them.

Best plot you ever wrote?
I'd have to go with the Action arc (Cinders on the Wind to Saying Goodbye) of Little Secrets. A lot of work went into the planning of that section. Plotting started eight months in advance. And I think we're doing pretty well with the In Another Lifetime series, but we're building off of material already written, so I'm not sure it counts.

Coolest plot twist you ever wrote?
Again, Little Secrets and the It's-Not-A-Dream in the chapter Come Undone

How often do you get writer's block?
We don't very often. I guess it comes from having two of us, although there are some days when the Muse just doesn't cooperate.

How do you fix it?
Hash things out with each other or watch the films again to get ideas. Half of my really good ideas come from watching Chris and Margot's other films and just imagining them in different situations. What can I say? I'm easy to inspire.

Do you save everything you write?

Do you ever go back to an old idea long after you abandoned it?

Oh yes. Especially if it was an idea I didn't want to let go of and I finally found a place to use it.

What's your favourite thing that you've written?
It's a really hard toss-up between LS and the In Another Lifetime series. Both have been an absolute labor of love and some of the hardest work we've ever done. Although I have to say, of the oneshots? Connection is my favorite because it doesn't show that Lois and Kal-El's marriage is perfect. They still have their childish moments like another other couple.

What's everyone else's favorite thing that you've written?
*LOL* Looking at the hit counts and reviews, I'd have to go with Little Secrets, although In Another Lifetime seems to have found a pretty good audience.

Do you ever show people your work?

Several family members have read this and our original work.

Who's your favourite constructive critic?
That would have to be Anissa, followed by the beta team itself. I do have to say that trekkie6 is very good at kicking me in the butt and saying, "Are you sure that's how she'd say it?" XD

Did you ever write a novel?
We're currently working on several original projects, one of which is a dark fantasy novel series.

Have you ever written fantasy, sci-fi, or horror?

Worked on a fantasy novel for many years with Mysa, I think Superman counts as sci-fi,and our Original work is horror. So, yeah. :)

Ever written romance or teen angsty drama?
All of our written work involves a romance of some kind. Usually the star-crosed type. In our current work, literally. :)

What's one genre you have never written, and probably never will?
Pure romance. It's just not as interesting to me. There has to be more than one thing going on. Beyond that? There's nothing we won't try. Except regular slash. I'm just no good at it.

How many writing projects are you working on right now?

See a couple of posts ago.

Do you want to write for a living?
I can think of nothing better.

Have you ever written something for a magazine or newspaper?
I've never had the guts. *listens to her Lois muse bitch at her*

Have you ever won an award for your writing?
Somehow we managed to pick up five Superman Movieverse FanFiction Awards last year. *loves her readership* I think I'm the proudest of our one-liner win. :D We were nommed again this year, so I guess we're doing something right. ;)

Ever written something in script or play format?

Took a screenwriting class in art school. I wrote a trailer for Dark Rising. I wrote a few plays in high school, but was never impressed with them.

What is your favourite word?
According to Anissa, it's 'seemed'. I guess I tend to use it a lot. *LOL*

Do you ever write based on yourself?
A little, sometimes. Kala Lane-Kent (especially in moments during Heirs) has a lot in common with me in my teenage years. And a tiny bit of Lois comes from me.

Which of your characters most resembles you?

I'm not really sure. They all have a bit of me, I think. The funny thing? I'm more like Clark than Lois most of the time. I wish I could be my Lois some days.

Where do you get ideas for your characters?
Don't ask me. They just show up most of the time. And expect me to feed them and give them a place to stay. I'm such a sucker that they never leave.

Do you ever write based on your dreams?

I don't have dreams that interesting.

Do you prefer happy endings, sad endings, or cliff-hangers?
I'm a happy endings-kinda girl for the most part, but cliffies make you appreciate that happy ending.

Have you ever written anything based on an artwork you've seen?
*grins evilly, knowing that she has in the past and that she has more planned in the future*

Are you concerned with spelling and grammar as you write?

I think the funniest thing is that we're both trained writers, yet we have a beta team to make sure we don't embarrass ourselves. :D And trust me, we adore them for making us look good.

Ever write something entirely in chatspeak?
*look of absolute horror*

Does music help you write?
I have to have music. Music really has inspired a good portion of our work. Sometimes an entire fic is written just because of a song (i.e. IAL).

Are people surprised and confused when they find out you write well?
Oh, the crew at work were all shocked when they finally found out about LS. "OMG, this is what you've been reading back over at work!" *giggles* That and everyone keeps asking when we're going to publish it. And I keep telling them it's fanfic.

Quote something you've written:

I was still staring half an hour later, lost in thought, when I heard a familiar voice behind me without warning. One with that nervous little undertone. “Lois, that was one heck of a look you gave me earlier. Are… are you mad at me or something?”

I felt my back tense. This is it. Now or never. Let the anger go and remember what you once had or light him up and destroy everything here and now. Either way, he’ll go on without you. He already has. At least this way, you can keep his secret, help him. You’ll know, even if no one else does. It’s not like bawling him out will change the past. Besides, do you really think that little farm girl will last long? Look what happened last time. Take your pick, Lane. What will it be?

Closing my eyes briefly, I slowly turned to look up at him, already knowing my answer.
