This Is Just Embarassing! DC, For The Love Of God, Get Your Sh*t In Gear!
*as Lois picks up her trusty Louisville and heads to the WB offices again, images of broken kneecaps dancing in her head*

This is just humiliating! Part of me just wants to petition them to get their *sses in gear and take our best of the best and go to Bryan Singer.

LET'S.

GET.

MOVING.

DAMMIT!

You bring your Louisville, I'll warm up the car. F*cking WB. X_x *twitch* The hell is wrong with them? They could be running *circles* around Marvel!! Gods!
Lois: Lois Badasskalalanekent on May 10th, 2008 10:32 pm (UTC)
I know! And the only thing we know is coming for sure is The Dark Knight! No offense, Ella, but he's the easy sell. Everyone likes the Goddamn because Bruce is such a mixed bag. You get a little of everything. Which isn't a bad thing, but...

And that's all they have coming! With all the stuff they've had in development in the last two years? *pulls at her hair* WTF?!?! How is that fair that they're not even trying to get things underway for the others?

No offense taken, hon! Batman sells. It's a fact. People have gotten too used to anti-heroes and dark heroes, especially ones without powers, so they're not as jazzed about heroes like Supes anymore. And that's just sad. *huggles Clark* :( All they want him to do is punch stuff and fight people!

And it's not fair at all. It's like they're walking around with blinders on, or something! WB, listen to the *real* fans, you idiots!! Move!!

I think it's probably just Marvel's time in the sun. They were determinedly backseat (Iron Man who?) to DC for a large number of years, and they've worked hard to see this kind of success.

But it will take someone as single minded as Quesada (which is good and bad) to get DC to do something like Marvel Entertainment. And WB knows what a cash cow their DC properties are. I foresee a long struggle, as much as it saddens me. :(

And I fully understand that, but my biggest issue with this and my biggest worry? Look at my icon. How far ahead are they going to have to skip on the storyline because they're waiting too long? Or we're going to lose Tristan. I don't want us to have to recast anyone, even Kate (who has the chops, but just needs to get the correct spine for the character. I've seen her do it now in other film. She just needs to prove it.)

Don't think I don't agree on the Wonder Woman issue there, as well. I might not like the character, but it was a foolish decision on the WB's part. I got a look at a bootleg on the script at one point (no, I don't know where it is now, for those of you that see this) and they were fools. I think he did a great job on it.

Recasting would be a shame, I agree. But the longer it takes to get moving, the more I'd rather have Singer's story over the actors involved. (Sorry) *hugs*

That's the thing, though. If they had gotten it in gear a year ago, we could have had both and there's no reason we couldn't have. They should have gone back into the studio six months or so after SR. There's no reason at all why we couldn't have both and it's a shame that they're doing this to the fans.

Well I'm not excusing WB here because I agree with your sentiments but Singer wanted to do a movie in between the Superman projects so he was not available immediately. Add to that the fact that the movie he did work on took longer than expected, and then the writers left the project because of the delay in Singer's availability (that I am still gutted about), and then there was a writers strike. *Now* is the time to sort the script and start planning and I seriously hope that is what is happening behind the scenes right now.

DC is owned by Time Warner as is Warner Bros. - so the DC characters are stuck with the studio.

Yep. Sad but true.

I second that opinion.

*grabs her cricket bat and joins you*

I'm not the biggest Singer fan on the block, but this is ridiculous! It's time to either gun the accelerator or get off the highway, as my granddad used to say.

*whacks everyone concerned upside the head*
Lois: Jor-El Disapproveskalalanekent on May 12th, 2008 05:34 pm (UTC)
Absolutely what your granddad said. They have such potential with the storyline! I understand that they lost Dan and Mike on the creative crew, but still...

With how many fans are out there, surely we can find someone good to write the script?!

Thanks for appearing from your exile, Tam! *tacklehugs*

*helps you onboard* You can start the engine now, Brandon. :D

This really sucks!

Why didn't they already have scripts done as a precaution? Or something!!
Lois: Lois Delighted Grinkalalanekent on May 12th, 2008 05:38 pm (UTC)
So speaks the Voice of Reason. I only wish that the WB had the sense to have done that.

And my question is: are they actively taking scripts now? If they waiting until the production is a go, I'm going to kill them.
