LS News Update - Please Read

OK, readers, fans, friends, and other assorted journal-browsing folks.  This is Anissa with an important update on the future of LS.

For the remainder of Act Five, I'm going to be fiddling around with the posting schedule a bit.  DON'T PANIC!  You'll still get a chapter a week. We're just trying to make two changes to save my sanity.

One, the new deadline to finish each chapter is moving back to Thursday night/Friday morning.  Beta team, that means you'll see it Friday AM instead of Saturday.  Now, we aren't changing the post date too much.  We've got to give the beta team time to read it and ferret out all my typos.  Abby and Barb both have lives, you know, and we can't expect them to drop everything and beta a chapter.  So if we're lucky we can get it done when I come home from work at about midnight on Friday.  Occasionally, we might even be able to post Friday evening if Lois is off work, but don't expect that.

Two, the chapter lengths have GOT to be cut.  For a long time we were doing 5,000 word chapters, and then it gradually crept upward.  Twice now we've posted two chapters in one week just to keep from having a 9,000 word chapter.  I don't know about you all, but I don't care how long it takes to finish the story.  We'll get there - and don't worry, there are a few more thrills and chills before the happy ending, LS could never be all sweetness and light for long - but trying to scramble to add 2,000 or 4,000 words on the last night before deadline is killing us.

I've been trying to cut chapter length for a month now, with no success, so I have no idea how this is gonna work.  We usually want to get to a certain point before we close the chapter (like this week's adventures in the hayloft, mrowr mrowr) and won't quit until we do.  But I hope to rearrange my schedule to the point where we can get writing done and still have time for the little things.  Like, you know, a relationship. And all it entails. *waggles eyebrows*  Especially since we're only a few chapters from One Week, and there's still some research to do.

And you know, if we can carve out some more spare time, maybe I can get up before noon to buy my girlfriend some bagels.  Although me being awake before noon may cause The End of the World as We Know It.  BTW, sitting in the car, un-showered groggy and bitchy, because my dad has a doctor's appointment, does not count as awake.
