Valentine's Day Cheesy Love Song Challenge ~ Accidentally in Love

Almost finished at 6,984 (as of this edit) words. Goes to betas tonight, will post Monday on our due date. Spoiler available in this journal.

Clois 100 Prompts

A brief look at the Lane family traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Excerpt from LS that didn't make it into the story because of length. Idea spawned by firedrake_mor</lj>'s review. Spoiler: "Mommy! Mommy! Daddy's on TV!"

Follows Accidentally in Love in the "In Another Lifetime" verse. The events that conclude Accidentally in Love have repercussions that cause an interesting homecoming. Spoiler: "Perry, sometimes things just ... happen." "Yeah, Lane. Sometimes I think you drink too much. What the hell were you thinking?"

Just picked this one up (love you, Caroline). "In Another Lifetime" continues as we redo another part of SII. Spoiler: "Kneel before Zod!" "Not f*cking likely!"

What's the one thing Clark misses the most in LS? We call "In Another Lifetime" the wish fulfillment 'verse for a reason. Spoiler: "I could really go for some chocolate jalapenos right now ... what the hell is wrong with me?!"

Finishing out the "In Another Lifetime" 'verse. What could possibly make everyone's favorite cool, calm, collected reporter completely lose it? Spoiler: "Lois, just breathe..." "I will kill you for this!"

The long-awaited sequel to Out of Reach. Will be titled Thnks fr th Mmrs. Two people left behind by the ones they love decide to go to the Daily Planet Christmas Party together. Includes two significant pieces of music. Spoiler: "Not in the office, Bruce. That's like having sex in church." "You know, certain religions..." "No."

Did you like the Deleted Scene from Thursday Night in LS? Did you read it, sit back, and go, "Dayyyyyum"? This one will be hotter. A couple people have been spoilered on the idea so far. It has 626 words as of right now. For your spoiler, the first paragraph:

Lois ran Kal-El’s red tie through her fingers repeatedly, biting her lower lip. Every time she thought about what she was planning to do, a strange mixture of arousal and anxiety propelled her into restless pacing. The idea was such a departure from the norm for them, she sometimes wondered if he would even go along with it. Something so far outside their experience also carried the thrill of novelty, and another part of her mind whispered that of course he would go along with it – hadn’t he been willing to try anything she asked?

Everything Else

As for the EPBOD, it and its sequel (major psychological drama) are still being discussed. You'll hear more later.

The multipart Richana fic is also in discussion. We can't spoiler you here, though. Just know we're working on it.

And a last little spoiler, just because we love you. I'm sure most of you have heard mention of the sequel to LS: Heirs to the House of El. Well, here's a bit from the prologue.

Prologue: Kala Josephine Lane-Kent

Cold, so cold, icy water soaking through clothes to skin, salt stinging eyes, panic: no air. Just water, cold seawater, holding breath and kicking hard, hands bound, shoes heavy. Trapped, doomed, freezing – dying. Dying, lungs burning, darkness descending, and the water conducting one sound hellishly clear: Luthor’s laughter

I sat bolt upright in bed, gasping for air, my skin clammy with sweat. I panted in terror until reality asserted itself: I was almost sixteen, not six and helpless; this was my familiar bedroom, not the cold Atlantic Ocean; and I had been dreaming, not drowning. For the millionth time, I cursed Luthor; even ten years later, the nightmares were still just as intense. Some part of me would always be that little girl, heroic enough to attack a madman to protect her father, but too weak to stop herself from being flung off a kryptonite island and into the merciless ocean.

It took a moment to regain my breath and my composure, but once I did, I got up and pulled a bathrobe over my nightgown. It was automatic after all this time, just one of those weird twin things. If I had a nightmare, Jason did too. So I was already heading for his room when I first heard his voice.

He wasn’t quite awake yet, still murmuring in his sleep, but his breath was fast and shallow and his heart was racing. Still stuck in his version of our endless nightmare, my twin would eventually thrash himself awake, probably wrecking his bed and his room in the process. Super-strength can be a bitch sometimes.

Before he got to that point, I was in his room, sitting on the side of his bed and rubbing his back. “It’s a nightmare, Jase,” I whispered. “The same old dream. Daddy’s okay, Mom’s safe, Luthor’s long gone, we’re grown up, and it’s just a stupid nightmare.”

Gradually he stopped tossing and turning, curling up on his side. I glanced at his clock; it was almost four in the morning. Not much point now in dragging myself back across the hall to my room for another hour’s sleep. The nightmare had been known to strike twice in the same night, so we were better off together. Sighing, I lay down next to my brother and cuddled up to his back, listening to his breathing deepen and slow as I tried to get back to sleep.

Hope you enjoyed! We're going to begin the next chapter of LS as soon as we finish Accidentally in Love. Expect us to work on the Clois 100 prompts along the way as well, although we may not finish them all until LS is complete.
