Time For Spoilers! :)

It's been a tough week and we're trying to get this to you all as fast as we can. Christmastime is so busy! And we have SO many ideas for the next few chapters! If only we could both take a week off work and just write. That would be heavenly. *Sigh*

Oh, BTW, I want to reprint this just briefly. It was something originally posted for

The Cashier's Lament

A lot of people forget during this season that the cashiers and baggers and cafe workers, etc. are *also* people. The stress and hurry and worry they're feeling is pretty much mirrored by us. I had one man completely blow up at me last night and it took every ounce of strength in me to be nice and try to reason with him over the price of a washcloth. A two dollar washcloth.

In the end, after going over to the display and rereading the prices, he calmed down and admitted he was wrong. Turns out that he had driven down straight from West Virginia to Jacksonville, Fl, only to check into his hotel (he's having a house built in Ponte Vedra and it's nearly done) and find that they had run out of towels. Can you believe that? *LOL* And it was the Radisson, too. *snicker* He was just looking for a good price for stuff that could go to the new house as well. And it *was* 9:45 at night.

In the end, I think he took five minutes to apologize and thank me for having the Christmas spirit. After all of that, I really appreciated it, as last night was a chamber of horrors in that five people (including managers) were closing an nine-position store. Didn't mean I didn't want to kick him, but it was awesome that he even took the time to admit he was wrong.

For those of you behind the counter like me, Sean, and Ella, keep holding on. There's someone out there with you slogging it out. I'll be thinking of you every night until, Christmas and hope we get through it.

For the rest of you, think of every cashier as us. And hug your cashier today. Trust me, they need it! ;)

...

End of speech. Sorry, but needed to get it out there.

EDIT: Also, a new video from purplesunbeam! I didn't make this one! (Sorry for any confusion!)

And I plan to see what I can do for a Christmas video while I'm home today, as well as starting on the Superman Saga/'It's All Coming Back To Me' one.

Now *LOL* to the spoiler. :)

The cell phone buzzed for a second, then played the first recorded message. “Lois, it’s Richard. I saw the news. We need to talk.” An abrupt click as he hung up the phone, and Lois pinched the bridge of her nose, wondering if this was what a migraine felt like.

Next message…

“Miss Lane, this is Jimmy. I think the Chief’s really mad at you – he’s turning red and yelling something about you and the news? Call me before you come back to the office and I’ll let you know if the coast is clear.” Even as he whispered, she could hear Perry bellowing in the background.

Next message…

“Lois, this is your mother. I hope you realize you’ve just traumatized your twins. They were watching TV, and they saw all of that. Kala’s in her room claiming that there’s nobody named Kala home right now, and Jason’s in tears because he says you said you and Superman were friends and now you’re being mean. Call me.”

Next message…

:)

Also known as 'Random as hell'. *LOL*

But better known as 'having too much time on their days off!' :D
Loiskalalanekent on December 8th, 2006 01:01 am (UTC)
But enjoying every minute of it. I don't know when I laughed this much last.

Ditto over here. And to think that I could have waisted my day writing and doing other boring stuff... like more writing. :P

No regrets! I can write later. This I need to do more often!
Loiskalalanekent on December 8th, 2006 01:06 am (UTC)
Agreed! I just wish I had more days that I could do it.

And I'm still listening to this song! Now I have to use it. So stuck in my head.
sean_montgomery: Brandon - huh?sean_montgomery on December 8th, 2006 01:09 am (UTC)
Do you really? Have you been listening to it during our entire, multi-hour conversation??
Loiskalalanekent on December 8th, 2006 01:13 am (UTC)
Close to, but with breaks. I turn the music off about an hour ago and it's still there.

Did you see the post to bisty? I'm think about letting Lois be in the car and Clark be elsewhere and have 'Stupid Like That' come on the radio in both places at the same time.

Funny - when I heard this song and thought of them, that was the EXACT picture that came to mind.

Must mean you should do it. :D
Loiskalalanekent on December 8th, 2006 01:22 am (UTC)
Good. Just for some Jason/Elise to clear my head, I'm watching the 'Move Along' video I put up last Monday. Of course, it's SM Clark and Lois, but it fits Jason and Elise well, so...

Whatever milks your muses cow! (hey, i'm from the midwest - i can say that! :D)

So, are you working on 'Heirs' and LS at the same time, then?
Loiskalalanekent on December 8th, 2006 01:30 am (UTC)
No, just discussing and taking notes. Anissa has the entire framework of the story in her head. That one is her baby. There has only been one scene written out, the opening, and it was written on notebook paper at The Loop PizzaGrille during our two-week break. But we know exactly what will happen.

Looking forward to it, but LS is *my* baby and it comes first. I'm just enjoying getting them there.
