Time For Spoilers! :)

It's been a tough week and we're trying to get this to you all as fast as we can. Christmastime is so busy! And we have SO many ideas for the next few chapters! If only we could both take a week off work and just write. That would be heavenly. *Sigh*

Oh, BTW, I want to reprint this just briefly. It was something originally posted for

The Cashier's Lament

A lot of people forget during this season that the cashiers and baggers and cafe workers, etc. are *also* people. The stress and hurry and worry they're feeling is pretty much mirrored by us. I had one man completely blow up at me last night and it took every ounce of strength in me to be nice and try to reason with him over the price of a washcloth. A two dollar washcloth.

In the end, after going over to the display and rereading the prices, he calmed down and admitted he was wrong. Turns out that he had driven down straight from West Virginia to Jacksonville, Fl, only to check into his hotel (he's having a house built in Ponte Vedra and it's nearly done) and find that they had run out of towels. Can you believe that? *LOL* And it was the Radisson, too. *snicker* He was just looking for a good price for stuff that could go to the new house as well. And it *was* 9:45 at night.

In the end, I think he took five minutes to apologize and thank me for having the Christmas spirit. After all of that, I really appreciated it, as last night was a chamber of horrors in that five people (including managers) were closing an nine-position store. Didn't mean I didn't want to kick him, but it was awesome that he even took the time to admit he was wrong.

For those of you behind the counter like me, Sean, and Ella, keep holding on. There's someone out there with you slogging it out. I'll be thinking of you every night until, Christmas and hope we get through it.

For the rest of you, think of every cashier as us. And hug your cashier today. Trust me, they need it! ;)

End of speech. Sorry, but needed to get it out there.

EDIT: Also, a new video from purplesunbeam! I didn't make this one! (Sorry for any confusion!)

And I plan to see what I can do for a Christmas video while I'm home today, as well as starting on the Superman Saga/'It's All Coming Back To Me' one.

Now *LOL* to the spoiler. :)

The cell phone buzzed for a second, then played the first recorded message. “Lois, it’s Richard. I saw the news. We need to talk.” An abrupt click as he hung up the phone, and Lois pinched the bridge of her nose, wondering if this was what a migraine felt like.

Next message…

“Miss Lane, this is Jimmy. I think the Chief’s really mad at you – he’s turning red and yelling something about you and the news? Call me before you come back to the office and I’ll let you know if the coast is clear.” Even as he whispered, she could hear Perry bellowing in the background.

Next message…

“Lois, this is your mother. I hope you realize you’ve just traumatized your twins. They were watching TV, and they saw all of that. Kala’s in her room claiming that there’s nobody named Kala home right now, and Jason’s in tears because he says you said you and Superman were friends and now you’re being mean. Call me.”

I guess it's just because I'm so excited about it. There's so much coming up. Action, serious romance, suspense, and more than a little terror.

And so many little details about their lives that help color things in.

Don't you love getting excited about future chapters? One day I spent most of my time having to re-focus myself - I was writing down ideas and conversations for the last chapter (which is going to be wonderfully angst-y for Clark) when I should have been focusing on the THIRD chapter! :D

We do it, too. I have a rough of the final few scenes before the last act (which will be short and will include Christmas). And our notes are from all over the place in this little tales. We toss out ideas on our nightly walks and they can come from *anywhere*. The Richard/Lana thing was decided on one of those walks.

The Richard/Lana thing was decided on one of those walks.

Careful - don't spoil anything for anyone. ;)

The only thing I'm worried about is making the mystery in general credible and realistic. Like I said, this is my first mystery, and while I love diving into the character drama, there's the B-plot that needs to be equal with the A-plot. Thank GOD I've got Barb and Mel on this - they keep my head straight! :D

What's your post date?

What's your post date?

Um... whenever I get it back from both betas? *laughs* I usually try to have a chapter done by the thursday of every week. Unless you meant something different by 'post date'...

No, for 12 Days, silly.

I know, but it's going to take one or two good nights of doing nothing but writing in order for me to feel like I've really commited to it and made it something special. Plus there's lots of people reading and checking out this site... :D

Lots of self-induced pressure. I hate myself sometimes. *laughs*
