Time For Spoilers! :)

It's been a tough week and we're trying to get this to you all as fast as we can. Christmastime is so busy! And we have SO many ideas for the next few chapters! If only we could both take a week off work and just write. That would be heavenly. *Sigh*

Oh, BTW, I want to reprint this just briefly. It was something originally posted for

The Cashier's Lament

A lot of people forget during this season that the cashiers and baggers and cafe workers, etc. are *also* people. The stress and hurry and worry they're feeling is pretty much mirrored by us. I had one man completely blow up at me last night and it took every ounce of strength in me to be nice and try to reason with him over the price of a washcloth. A two dollar washcloth.

In the end, after going over to the display and rereading the prices, he calmed down and admitted he was wrong. Turns out that he had driven down straight from West Virginia to Jacksonville, Fl, only to check into his hotel (he's having a house built in Ponte Vedra and it's nearly done) and find that they had run out of towels. Can you believe that? *LOL* And it was the Radisson, too. *snicker* He was just looking for a good price for stuff that could go to the new house as well. And it *was* 9:45 at night.

In the end, I think he took five minutes to apologize and thank me for having the Christmas spirit. After all of that, I really appreciated it, as last night was a chamber of horrors in that five people (including managers) were closing an nine-position store. Didn't mean I didn't want to kick him, but it was awesome that he even took the time to admit he was wrong.

For those of you behind the counter like me, Sean, and Ella, keep holding on. There's someone out there with you slogging it out. I'll be thinking of you every night until, Christmas and hope we get through it.

For the rest of you, think of every cashier as us. And hug your cashier today. Trust me, they need it! ;)

...

End of speech. Sorry, but needed to get it out there.

EDIT: Also, a new video from purplesunbeam! I didn't make this one! (Sorry for any confusion!)

And I plan to see what I can do for a Christmas video while I'm home today, as well as starting on the Superman Saga/'It's All Coming Back To Me' one.

Now *LOL* to the spoiler. :)

The cell phone buzzed for a second, then played the first recorded message. “Lois, it’s Richard. I saw the news. We need to talk.” An abrupt click as he hung up the phone, and Lois pinched the bridge of her nose, wondering if this was what a migraine felt like.

Next message…

“Miss Lane, this is Jimmy. I think the Chief’s really mad at you – he’s turning red and yelling something about you and the news? Call me before you come back to the office and I’ll let you know if the coast is clear.” Even as he whispered, she could hear Perry bellowing in the background.

Next message…

“Lois, this is your mother. I hope you realize you’ve just traumatized your twins. They were watching TV, and they saw all of that. Kala’s in her room claiming that there’s nobody named Kala home right now, and Jason’s in tears because he says you said you and Superman were friends and now you’re being mean. Call me.”

Next message…

:)

Not to mention you started the next act with this semi-depressive, downhill slope (which I love). It just makes things more... angsty, but it makes the reader beg you for hope. And, after seeing that picture that was drawn for you, we know there's the light at the end of the tunnel. It's just getting there that's hard.
Loiskalalanekent on December 7th, 2006 08:47 pm (UTC)
That's why I made the decision to put the pic up. I knew that all of you were really starting to worry, so I couldn't hold it until the end of the story. Trust me, I'm rooting for them as much as everyone else is.

Problem is, they had it easy the first time and didn't fight to stay together. They both hated it, tried to put on brave faces, and regretted that they ended it, but they split. Now, with all of the fallout, they have to work for it this time. Which will just make the bond stronger.

And you'll get a better glimpse of just why they can't let go soon. And no, it's not the twins. ;)

Which is why I love this story. There's so much to work through, but they're willing to give it a shot.

And you'll get a better glimpse of just why they can't let go soon.

This wouldn't have anything to do with a closet, would it? *winkety wink wink*
Loiskalalanekent on December 7th, 2006 08:54 pm (UTC)
Nope, that was the last of the closet. But they have a long way to go. And will shortly be getting some help with that. :)
sean_montgomery: Brandon - huh?sean_montgomery on December 7th, 2006 08:56 pm (UTC)
So it's... AFTER the closet chapter? As in, a chapter that's already there? Or it's coming in the future and I'm going to have to wait for it like everyone else who's caught up?
Loiskalalanekent on December 7th, 2006 09:02 pm (UTC)
Coming in the next few chapters. And the tide will change again, both for better and worse. The better is much better, the worse...well, it's bad.

Isn't that right, B?

Ooh, I LOVE emotional rollar coaster rides in stories! Prob'ly why I eat those up all the time and fell in love with SR!

Fine. I'll wait with the rest of the world. Don't think I won't give you a grand reaction when it happens, though. ;)
Loiskalalanekent on December 7th, 2006 09:10 pm (UTC)
I expect all the love in the world and definitely death threats, but this is the part everyone's been waiting for.

And Kal-El and Lois can never do things on a small scale, not even falling in love.

*ROTFLMAO*

I can't stop listening to that song now! *LOL* I'm going to happily O.D. on 'Stupid Like That'. I'm the same way with 'How Do You Love?' We have to work tonight. The Muse is just hanging around today, talking in Margie's voice.

I love it when she hangs out. I get the feeling that I'll be watching the Donnor Cut and SR before Anissa comes home tonight. And I'll have the Kryp-tin on Monday. *happy grin* Can't wait to have it in my hands.

The muse is hanging around too, but I'm half-afraid she'll leave 'cause I'm not really writing anything on Underground or 12 Days (which needs therapy in the worst way).

And I'll have the Kryp-tin on Monday. *happy grin* Can't wait to have it in my hands.

I want the Kryp-tin. *pouts* WalMart didn't have it, the party poopers.

(psst - i sent you my review!)
Loiskalalanekent on December 7th, 2006 09:49 pm (UTC)
Hey, the only reason I'll be getting it before Christmas is because Monday is my birthday. That's Anissa's present to me.

If all else fails, we can talk about it. See what we can do to help your Muse out. I do it with Saavi and Noux all the time. If you don't mind me knowing anything, but we can be careful about that.

Hey, the only reason I'll be getting it before Christmas is because Monday is my birthday.

So? My birthday is in... *checks the date* twenty days! :D I was gonna buy it for myself, too!

If you don't mind me knowing anything, but we can be careful about that.

It's not going to be a 12 Days epic - it's just a one-shot! :D It's just that I've never done anything like this before, and all the stories I've read with similar subject matter have been either really corny or written by horomonal teenagers. I'll bet I can make it work... I just need to get over my cold feet (doesn't help that I frequently have the same problem with Underground, which is the first mystery I've ever written).
Loiskalalanekent on December 7th, 2006 10:02 pm (UTC)
Well, we have a little bit more hormone in ours, but there's more than that.

Send me your email over on FF.

I think I knew that just from the hints you provided a while ago. *wink*

Sending you my addy...
