Time For Spoilers! :)

It's been a tough week and we're trying to get this to you all as fast as we can. Christmastime is so busy! And we have SO many ideas for the next few chapters! If only we could both take a week off work and just write. That would be heavenly. *Sigh*

Oh, BTW, I want to reprint this just briefly. It was something originally posted for

sean_montgomery and ellalou73 :

The Cashier's Lament

A lot of people forget during this season that the cashiers and baggers and cafe workers, etc. are *also* people. The stress and hurry and worry they're feeling is pretty much mirrored by us. I had one man completely blow up at me last night and it took every ounce of strength in me to be nice and try to reason with him over the price of a washcloth. A two dollar washcloth.

In the end, after going over to the display and rereading the prices, he calmed down and admitted he was wrong. Turns out that he had driven down straight from West Virginia to Jacksonville, Fl, only to check into his hotel (he's having a house built in Ponte Vedra and it's nearly done) and find that they had run out of towels. Can you believe that? *LOL* And it was the Radisson, too. *snicker* He was just looking for a good price for stuff that could go to the new house as well. And it *was* 9:45 at night.

In the end, I think he took five minutes to apologize and thank me for having the Christmas spirit. After all of that, I really appreciated it, as last night was a chamber of horrors in that five people (including managers) were closing an nine-position store. Didn't mean I didn't want to kick him, but it was awesome that he even took the time to admit he was wrong.

For those of you behind the counter like me, Sean, and Ella, keep holding on. There's someone out there with you slogging it out. I'll be thinking of you every night until, Christmas and hope we get through it.

For the rest of you, think of every cashier as us. And hug your cashier today. Trust me, they need it! ;)

End of speech. Sorry, but needed to get it out there.

EDIT: Also, a new video from purplesunbeam! I didn't make this one! (Sorry for any confusion!)

And I plan to see what I can do for a Christmas video while I'm home today, as well as starting on the Superman Saga/'It's All Coming Back To Me' one.

Now *LOL* to the spoiler. :)

The cell phone buzzed for a second, then played the first recorded message. “Lois, it’s Richard. I saw the news. We need to talk.” An abrupt click as he hung up the phone, and Lois pinched the bridge of her nose, wondering if this was what a migraine felt like.

Next message…

“Miss Lane, this is Jimmy. I think the Chief’s really mad at you – he’s turning red and yelling something about you and the news? Call me before you come back to the office and I’ll let you know if the coast is clear.” Even as he whispered, she could hear Perry bellowing in the background.

Next message…

“Lois, this is your mother. I hope you realize you’ve just traumatized your twins. They were watching TV, and they saw all of that. Kala’s in her room claiming that there’s nobody named Kala home right now, and Jason’s in tears because he says you said you and Superman were friends and now you’re being mean. Call me.”

Next message…

Again, so true. It's tough to keep up with updates and so many good stories.

Aww... you included Underground in that list! *hugs you* There's a few on that list I haven't seen before, though. I might have to do a little investigating...
Brian's FanFic Journal: Superman Seriousmr_beeto on December 7th, 2006 07:55 pm (UTC)
Might one those ones that you haven't seen be Getting Eaten Alive by Tandrelmairon? It's #2 on my all-time favorite list (right behind Little Secrets).

And Yes, I love Underground, too, though I think I may have fallen behind in the reviews there...
sean_montgomery: Clark - Booknerdsean_montgomery on December 7th, 2006 08:01 pm (UTC)
Oh, I ADORE Getting Eaten Alive! It's one of those that I've read but never got the chance to review. Perhaps if I do Tandrelmairon will update. :D

I'm pretty sure you aren't one of the few who are behind in the review department for Underground. (ya reading this Barb? ;) )
Loiskalalanekent on December 7th, 2006 08:05 pm (UTC)
I've read the first couple of chapters, but got pulled away from reviewing again around that time. I really need to catch up.
Barbara: Gasp VGhtbthomas on December 7th, 2006 08:27 pm (UTC)
I'm going to pretend you didn't just say that...

No, JK. Actually, LS and Getting Eaten Alive are tied with Life Belongs to the Living in my all-time fave SR stories. I have tons that I also like very well. I can't really rank them except in groups. (You know what I mean, Kala - we did this on the chat the other day).

And you people! One would think that you had the DAY OFF or something! !@#$!%!#$-stupid-no-getting-a-snow-day-@#%@$#^%

I wondered when you'd sneak in here! Lurker! :P

Well, this is my first day off since Saturday, so I'm just kicking back and relaxing while Anissa adds at work. We'll be sending it to you tonight. Down to the last little bit.

Your favorite has been updated but is still two POV changes off being finished. Shall I send, Your Majesty?

And stop... *rolls eyes* EVERYONE here is a fan of your masterpiece, love. You're not the ECQ for nothing. And I totally agree on the ranking scale. I can easily say we run with the best crowd. :)

I wasn't lurking! I was working. And then I saw all the comments (which had jumped from 10 to 52 in a few hours) and went WTF?!

So I came to see...

And PLEASE... I wasn't really being pissy about not being mentioned. I was just being silly. I'm not THAT much of a queen bee. (Oh, God, I'm not, am I?)

Loiskalalanekent on December 8th, 2006 12:00 am (UTC)
I was teasing you, silly. Please, you're Queen for a reason. In all seriousness. We all love you and Deja Vu. Go read. Abby and I were gossiping aboput your greatness.

We love you, B. *Big Hug*
Brian's FanFic Journal: Superman Seriousmr_beeto on December 7th, 2006 08:55 pm (UTC)
God, I wouldn't want to rank them all! O_o

But there are always one or two to stand out from the crowd (and it's an exceptional crowd here). And if (or when) one picks favorites you risk ruffling feathers, so it's not often that I'll admit which ones are my favorites. But there are some that do stand out.

BTW: I had to shovel my driveway this morning. Just an inch or so, but still... First time this season.
Loiskalalanekent on December 7th, 2006 09:00 pm (UTC)
I love it when she posts something like this and then runs away! B! That's just cruel! No TPM for you! *LOL*

*LOL* Should I still send it? You'll be happy.

*snicker* I love you, woman!

Yes, that's it exactly. An exceptional crowd and it's too hard to rank. Of course everyone has their top picks that are different from everyone else's!

Re Snow: Everyone who left after 7:00am this morning had a HELL of a drive, but it's pretty clear now.
Loiskalalanekent on December 8th, 2006 12:13 am (UTC)
We're just cold and rainy, here. Been drizzly all day. I'd rather have snow.
Brian's FanFic Journal: Superman Seriousmr_beeto on December 7th, 2006 08:07 pm (UTC)
And I know I'm missed a few on my short list, too. I hope that nobody feels slighted.
