I Guess This Is the Part Where I Promise Not To Grouse Anymore...
and just finish LS when it's time. We're almost done with this Arc and we have one last three chapter epilogue. The only question becomes, since it seems to be running too long for some fans, I put a question to you:

ETA: Stupid poll set-up isn't wanting to work so just reply in comments. After three re-dos, I give up!

AETA: Just for the record, this isn't about how many reviews we recieve. I know that some of you aren't comfortable with leaving them or are unsure what to say. Don't think you're being scolded in the least. I love you, reviews or no reviews. It's more about knowing if we've gone on too long. There is still more to come, but I know alot of people were in this for the action, so this is just letting both of us touch base with you. All is well! *hugs and kisses*

Shall we continue on until we reach our planned ending, which might finish it out at 80 chapters or skip the Christmas re-write and go straight to the end after chapter 70?

Just Go Ahead And End It! Where It Is! What's With This Freakin' Huge Epic? ;)

Do what you planned, but hurry up and finish!

Take you time and do what you had planned; I've been waiting for this.

I'm fine with skipping 'Christmas with the Kents' and going to the finale.

You're welcome to post anonymously if you like. I'm just curious. I'm still more than happy to continue the last twelve chapters I have planned and close it out with a bang. In the end, I'm happy with the story and the journey it's taken. Especially since only we know we're going to do in the end. :)

I want to see what you had planned. It is true that I am not very good at giving construction feedback. I am, however happy to have good reading material.
The only constructive feedback that I can give you is that I have a hard time reading your choices of fonts and colors due to my vision difficulties. Even with my coke bottle lenses, I still need good lighting and good colors to see properly. I have learned to compensate so very well that most people who meet me have no idea that I am partially blind in one eye. But there are times when the floaters and shadows do get to me. Those times are usually when I look at light on light or dark on dark. To be honest, there are times when I scan your work because it is just to hard to see.
I do enjoy your work, so please don't stop because some of us are too lazy, busy, insecure,or whatever to give you proper feedback. I appreciate your work.

Winddancer, have you tried to copy and paste the chapter into a word processor and then change the font to a type, color, and size that you can read? I do this every week. I don't save the chapter, but I copy and paste into Word and then I change the font and the size and the color to read more easily on the computer. Altough today, I just printed it up because Hubby wanted to go run errands. That's another option is to print it up after you get it into your word processor and the size and type and color font you want. Just an idea.

Thanks for the hint Mac. I do believe that I have done a few times before.

Is it any better reading on ff.net? Either that or we could revive the LS Mailing List, where we send it to you in a Word document. We stopped doing that because the chapter was being rejected by several people's spam filters (hotmail, I think).

I would love to recieve it in my email. Are the chapters exactly alike on LJ and FF.net? I thought you had to "tone it down" a bit for FF.net, so I've been getting it from LJ and copying and pasting and enlarging the font into Word and then commenting on FF.net.

No, Mac, no differences anymore. I had to tone it down for BT.net and FF.net before we raised the rating to M on FF.net. It's been unedited since Heart and Soul.

LOL I've been coping and pasting from the LJ because I didn't want to miss anything. I *am* 35 after all and I do believe that I am allowed to read smut according to all laws. And my ubby even encourages me to. LOL

OMG, Mac! I hadn't realized that that was why! *headdesk* I'm so sorry!

There are differences?

I do flip back and forth between lj and ff.net. The reading is easier at ff.net and that is where I do read your story most of the time.

The visual thing goes for me too - I've been reading off of ff.net because of that. (Actually for me it's also the indents on the paragraph breaks in addition to the fonts and color schemes ... that makes it hard.)

I wasn't ever going to say anything because its such a nitpicky thing but since you already did ... I also have those nasty floaters things and if I look at the comptuer too long it will give me a migraine. As such I often use the "?style=mine" code on the end of an LJ link. That will take the LJ comments page to LJ's basic default style.

(To give you an idea for this entry the URL would be "http://kalalanekent.livejournal.com/139564.html?style=mine")

Even with the style mine feature for some reason the paragraph indents do a number on my eyes. Maybe because I'm not used to reading text online in that formating? I'm not sure - because when I read it, say for example in a book or magazine article, it generally doesn't bother me. I'm guessing it has something to do with the screen setting. (And I said that last bit in my original LJ comment but LJ ate that??? Weird!)

Believe it or not, but it also helps me to close my damaged eye. :-)It gets funky once in awhile and tries to be the dominant one again. Vision problems suck, don't they?
I also know it's nit-picky. I have been reading this story for a year now and never said anything. However the ladies were asking for constructive feedback. And I couldn't come up with anything but this. Looks like it started a bit of a thread on its own.

I'd love to fix it, but my biggest problem is that I'm not so good at fixing any of the 'techie' stuff in LJ. Kat makes the layouts and I'm a completely n00b at editing it. We're working on a new layout for Christmas, so I'll have to ask her how to do that.

Trust me, I'd love to make it easier for everyone, but LJ freaks on me every once in a while. I just don't know how to fix it. *shrug, sheepish smile*
Loony Loopy Lea Lovegoodchickadilly on November 18th, 2007 05:48 am (UTC)
Oh gosh, I didn't mean to imply you should change your whole layout - your layout is nice. That's why I use the ?style=mine feature on the comments page. I use this on just about everyone's LJ (well everyone who doesn't use the LJ default page) it's just easier for me. So don't worry ... for me the biggest thing is the paragraph indents which is why I usually read on ff.net. I don't know why that hurts my eyes - like I said I think it's a screen thing.

Lois: Lois Lovekalalanekent on November 18th, 2007 05:57 am (UTC)
*LOL* It's okay. I'm only going to change layputs for Christmas, if Kat has time. Then January 1st, it will go back to this one. I just need to ask her if she knows how to fix that.

Saying that LJ tech is Greek to me is like saying Everest is a hill. XD
